In the manner of the Antique Medici and Borghese vases, adapted as table lamps, the krater vases surmounted by covers cast with masks, the flared rims with ovolo borders and scrolling vines to the undersides, the friezes carved with a band of bacchic revellers, flanked by twin palm-leaf wrapped handles issuing from mask supports, the acanthus clasped undersides above waisted fluted socles on square plinths, mounted on gilt bronze bases with winged paw and disc pad feet
