A DUTCH MARQUETRY SYCAMORE SECRETAIRE, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Surmounted by a grey marble top with cut corners containing a frieze drawer with a musical trophy and trailing flowers heightened in red penwork within purple wood and chequer inlaid border, the fall (split) enclosing a fitted interior with six drawers and divisions with pigeon holes, the reverse of the fall inlaid with a panel of burgundy tooled leather, the cupboard below enclosed by a pair of panelled doors with vases of flowers between canted angles heightened in harewood with angular ribboned and foliate roundels, the sides with ribboned ties sprays of flowers on square tapered feet
