拍品專文

The Greek hero, Bellerophon, was described in the Iliad (6:155-203) and resided in the court of Proetus, the King of Argus. His enemies set him the challenge of slaying the monstrous Chimaera. His success was guided by Minerva, who helped him secure the winged horse Pegasus.
Emile Picault trained under Royer, the Dutch sculptor, and exhibited a wide range of sculpture at the Salon between 1863 and 1909.
