Lot Essay

During World War II Ronald Searle served with 287 Field Co, Royal Engineers and was captured by the Japanese at the fall of Singapore, and from 1942 to 1945 was made a prisoner of war. This lot is sold with an exhibition catalogue of his war time drawings.
