A PAIR OF BOW BOCAGE FIGURES OF A FARMER AND COMPANION
Circa 1760
The standing figure of a man wearing tricorn hat, floral jacket and breeches, holding a basket of fruit in his right hand and a shovel in his left, she with a yellow bonnet, purple bodice, yellow skirt and purple underskirt and floral apron, holding a bouquet of flowers in her right hand and basket of flowers in her left, both figures standing before a profusely encrusted bocage with coloured flowerheads and raised on an encrusted pierced base with puce, aqua and gilt C-scrolls, red anchor and dagger mark, (his right hand restored, chips, losses and overpainting to leaves and flowerheads)
