Of rounded rectangular shape with lion-mask and fixed-ring handles, one side painted with a seated figure on a riverbank below a tree before a bridge, the reverse with mounted scrolls below an inscription

Lot Essay

The inscription refers to Li Chun and the famous Zhaozhou stone bridge he built during the Sui Dynasty (581-618), which is an outstanding example of ancient Chinese architecture.
The calligraphy was inscribed by Jisan at the Yihuyan Studio.
