AN UNUSUAL IVORY TEA-CADDY AND COVER
19th century
Formed in three parts, the cylindrical body carved and pierced through to an inner wall with quatrefoil panels of chrysanthemum, lotus, peony and prunus linked by small oval panels of flowers, the sloping shoulder and neck unscrewing to reveal the pewter liner and carved in relief with small shaped panels of birds, flowers and frogs, and the cover surmounted by a recumbent lion finial
