Printed throughout in red and black, small woodcut device on title-page and large device on last page, full-page woodcut illustrations on B8v and H6v and full-page woodcut diagrams on A2v and A3v, small woodcut on L4r, woodcut music printed on 4 staves. (Last leaf repaired with part of the device in facsimile, a few neat repairs in title-page.) 19th-century brown morocco gilt, decorated in 16th-century style g.e. Provenance: inscription washed from title.
Fourth edition of an important text on monastic singing first published in 1506. The last edition appeared in 1566. EDIT C-987; Sander 1602 (note).
