Document, 1 October, 2 Richard II [1378], indenture between Simon of Sudbury, Archbishop of Canterbury, Sir Guy de Bryan, Sir John Knyvet, Sir Thomas Maundevylle, Philip Melreth, John Bampton and Ivo Sandherst on the one part, and Lady Joan de Bohun, Countess of Hereford, Essex and Northampton, on the other, witnessing the grant of two thirds of the manor and marsh of Foulness, in the hundred of Rochford, Essex, on vellum, in Norman-French, 220 x 335mm; the SEALS of the indentors of the first part on red wax pendant from vellum tags.
