A FINE COW-HORN AND LEATHER SIDE CHAIR, TEXAS, CIRCA 1890
Of unusual form, the large side chair with black and white horns, red leather seat and brown leather skirt, the seat back formed of intertwined horns linked at top with a horn segmented strap, together with a vintage photo of this chair

This chair was owned by Dr. Tate, a locally reknowned doctor from Waco, the purveyor of the patent "Tate-Lax" medicinal. Also a proprietor of a rock museum in Waco, Dr. Tate maintained this chair in his possession until his death at which time it was acquired by Doc Bentley a friend of Gaines de Graffenried. The chair was later traded for an engraved '49 Pocket.
