A FACTORY ENGRAVED .36 COLT MODEL 1862 POLICE REVOLVER, NO. 43479 FOR 1870, WITH ORIGINAL MEXICAN SILVER BULLION HOLSTER
Engraved overall in scrollwork highlighted by granular grounds, silver plated, gold washed lever, cylinder and hammer (the hammer is quite unusual in that it is not engraved with wolf's head motif as typical and also the spur if left smooth not having been checkered), ivory grips relief carved on right side with Spanish Coat-of-Arms, with its original Mexican black leather holster, embroidered overall with floral design using silver bullion thread and red felt, monogrammed in silver bullion thread ER on flap, silver end cap
5½ inch (14 cm.) barrel
rRetins much original silver finish, gold wash present on lever but thin on cylinder, backstrap with traces of silver, mismatched arbour, grips bearing serial number of another Colt 1862, Holster fine with repair to flap
