A COMPOSITE .44 COLT WALKER MODEL 1847 REVOLVER, A COMPANY NO. 204 FOR 1847
The part octagonal barrel marked ADDRESS SAML. COLT NEW-YORK CITY
and US/1847 (barrel numbered "C COMPANY NO. 59", non-factory rear sight added during period of use), frame marked _ COMPANY NO. 204, cylinder with faint traces of pressure ridge but no Ranger and Indian fight scene (matching number), Brass trigger guard, iron backstrap, walnut grips.
9 inch (22.8 cm.) barrel
Dark brown patina overall, barrel and loading lever stretched to 9 inches (having once been cut down to 7½ inches), mismatched barrel, replaced wedge, replaced cylinder, grips with wear.
