AN ENGRAVED .44 SMITH & WESSON MODEL NO. 3 SECOND MODEL AMERICAN REVOLVER, NO. 23286 FOR 1874
Engraved (period though not factory) scrolls and wavy lines on barrel, cylinder and frame, vintage ivory grips, the left grip panel with small oval silver plaque inscribed E C G, the right grip panel with relief carved the Coat-of-Arms of Spain surmounted by a crown, together with a Mexican brown leather cartridge belt and holster embellished with patialla cactus floral scroll stitchings
8 inch (20.3 cm.) barrel
Barrel with grey patina, frame retaining some original nickel plating, period ivory grips, action loose, mis-matched barrel, holster and belt fine with some breaks in cartridge loops
