The facial types in this drawing are close to those in a drawing of a Holy Family in the Louvre, Paris, H.T. Goldfarb, From Fontainebleau to the Louvre: French Drawings from the Seventeenth Century, exhib. cat., The Cleveland Museum of Art, 1989, fig. 52b. The Louvre drawing was used by Ludolf Büsinck for a chiaroscuro print inscribed 'G. Lallemand inv.' and dated 1623, W.L. Strauss, Chiaroscuro, The Clair-Obscur Woodcuts by the German and Netherlandish Masters of the XVIth and XVIIth Centuries, London, 1973, no. 73, illustrated. The two drawings show a similar sculptural quality.
