the booklet, 1950, sixteen pages of illustrations with handcolouring in gouache by Karel Appel, with poems by Hugo Claus, on cream wove paper, signed in blue ink by artist and author, numbered 46 (from the edition of 200 with handcolouring), published in the series Hand-reeks, Cobra-bibliotheek no. 1, Parijs, all sheets loose within the original titled handcoloured paper covers, the inner pages discoloured with scattered foxmarks, the covers browned, with waterstaining and soiling, a very small paper loss in the lower sheet edge, a diagonal fold in the front cover, worn at the spine
