Baluster shaped on domed foot, repoussé and chased with a figure of Venus and her attendants on a chariot drawn by four horses across the waves, with borders of grape-vines on a matted ground, the collar chased with vines, the vine tendril handle with ivory insulators and Medusa's mask terminal, the helmet-shaped spout applied with vines, and with hinged domed cover with bunch of grapes finial, marked on collar, also stamped under spout with foreign import marks
