Two George III silver tea-caddies
Mark of Samuel Taylor, London, 1763 and 1767
Inverted pear-shaped, each on spreading circular foot, one with cover detaching at the neck, the other at the shoulders, with gadrooned borders, the bodies chased overall with flutes and scrolls, each engraved with a crest, marked on bodies and covers, in contemporary red velvet lined shagreen case on four lion's paw feet and applied with silver scrollwork on the angles and with similar lock plate, the hinged cover with scroll handle, now detached
The caddies, 6¼in. (16cm.) and 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high
The case, 9in. (23cm.) long
