London, 1701, with mark indistinct
Partly fluted, and on slightly domed gadrooned foot, chased with two scroll and foliage cartouches, one engraved with a crest, the other with initials 'L R*S', with two ring handles suspended from lion's mask terminals, the fixed collar with foliate, scroll and cherubs' mask border, marked on body below collar
10¼in. (26cm.) diam.
58oz. (1,821gr.)
The arms are possibly those of Manby of Elsham. A Chien Lung teapot, illustrated in D. Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, London, 1974, p. 563, is painted with similar arms
