Segna di Bonaventura was one of the most accomplished artists in the workshop of Duccio, where he is recorded between 1310-2. Stubblebine notes that he was probably an independant artist prior to this period, and that his own sizeable, highly successful workshop continued in a Ducciesque style until his death around 1331 (see J.H. Stubblebine, Duccio di Buoninsegna and His School, 1979, I, pp. 130-7).
We are grateful to Mr. Everett Fahy for confirming the attribution and suggesting a date of circa 1310.
