modelled as a scholar seated on a mule, the bearded figure holding an opened scroll between both hands, wearing tied at the waist long flowing robes, the mule with head lowered and turned to one side, wearing a saddle cloth decorated with a band of key-fret motifs to the edges -- 10¾in. (27.3cm.) high, (minor old damages).
