An album painted on leaves
19th century
containing twelve leaves in ink and colour, depicting Immortals in landscapes, one on a cliff before a dragon emerging from foaming waves, one with a tiger, one before a statue of Guanyin, one reading a scroll, one seated on a large leaf before a table with precious objects, one seated before albums, one holding a model of a shrine, one with a Buddhistic lion, one reading an album, one with a boy attendant, one of Buddha seated upon lotus and the last of Guanyin -- the album 10½in. x 6¾in. (26.6cms x 17cms), dedication inscription to the front dated 1843 with provenance from a Captain in Canton, 27th April 1829.
