The Rest on the Return from Egypt

Several autograph versions of this composition are known, including that in the National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin, executed circa 1494 (see C. von Holst, Francesco Granacci, 1974, pp. 129-31, p. 55, pl. 5); the Bob Jones University Art Gallery, Greenville, South Carolina (ibid., no. 44, pl. 73), and another in the Buccleuch collection, Boughton House (ibid., no. 43, pl. 72). Holst lists seven copies and versions altogether (ibid., p. 130).
