Lot Essay

The sitter was the younger daughter of James Everard Arundell (d.1803) of Ashcombe, Wiltshire, 3rd son of Henry, 6th Baron Arundell of Wardour, and Anne, daughter and heir of John Wyndham of Norrington, Wiltshire, elder brother of Thomas Wyndham Lord Chancellor of Ireland. Her brother James Everard became the 9th Lord Arundell of Wardour. She married the Hon. Bartholomew Bouverie, third son of William 1st Earl of Radnor in 1779.
