Lot Essay

Edward Arthur Donald St.George Hamilton Chichester, 6th Marquess of Donegall is depicted here aged four with his mother Violet. He became a Lieutenant Colonel in the army cadet force and during the second world war served as a war correspondant. He continued as a jounalist after the war and became a well know gossip columnist. He died in Switzerland aged seventy two.
