KONGSGAARD
John and Maggy Kongsgaard launched their winery in 1998, with the release of the now acclaimed Kongsgaard Chardonnay and Syrah. This year winemaker John Kongsgaard will release 900 cases of 1999 Chardonnay and 80 cases of 1999 Syrah under his family's label. Chardonnay grapes are sourced from the Kongsgaard family vineyard, "Stonecrest", on the northeast edge of the town of Napa, with the addition of fruit from the Hudson Ranch in Carneros. Syrah is sourced from a 500 vine selection on Hudson Ranch. The double magnums offered below are the first ever created and will be the only offered for sale in this vintage. Proceeds will benefit the Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival.
