With her handprint on several major wine icons of our day, Mia Klein, has along with former partner Tony Soter fundamentally changed the way we understand Napa Valley wines. As a team, they were responsible for crafting some of the last decade's most sought after labels, Araujo and Dalla Valle, for which collectors and wine lovers alike are willing to spend a handsome sum . Starting in 1991, Mia launched her own label focusing on two varietals, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The rare 1994 Toth Family Vineyard comes from a source located within the Caldwell Vineyard (of Pahlmeyer fame). It is known for its relatively cool microclimate within the valley and has tightly spaced vines that produce flavors of raspberry, dark cherries and spice. The 1999 Blackbird Vineyard is Mia's most recent vineyard designated Merlot which is offered here for the first time.
