VINE CLIFF WINERY
Vine Cliff, home to the Sweeney family, is situated in the heart of the Oakville Appellation. The mountainside winery was once part of the original George C. Yount Estate. The lots offered below will present the inaugural release of the single vineyard, Private Stock, 16 Rows, Cabernet Sauvignon, named after one of the 19th Century labels used at Vine Cliff.

"The finest wine I have ever tasted from Vine Cliff is the 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Limited Private Stock. The 300 case cuvée comes from sixteen rows of the estate Cabernet Sauvignon planted on the hillsides above the Oakville Crossroad. This is prime Cabernet Sauvignon country with neighbors such as Dalle Valle, Screaming Eagle, Rudd Estate, Venge Family Reserve, Plumpjack, Opus One, and Robert Mondavi. This dense purple-colored 1998 offers a super-extracted, rich nose of jammy black currants, spice box, and vanilla. Extremely full-bodied, with a voluptuous texture, massive concentration, and sweet tannin, this 1998 is one of the vintage's finest efforts." Robert Parker, Issue 132, 12/23/00
