A KAKIEMON BOWL
Edo Period (Late 17th Century)
Decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt on underglaze blue with a stylised prunus blossom in the centre within a large band with bamboo growing from rockwork, a ho-o bird spreading its wings in flight and a blossoming prunus tree, the foliated rim with stylised cherry blossom and tendrils, the reverse with stylised plum blossom and tendrils, the reverse with Fuku mark, slight rubbing to enamels
9in. (22.8cm.) diam.
