Signed Namikawa, Late Meiji Period (Circa 1900-1905)
Of shouldered ovoid form with a silver rim and base with three bracket feet, the purple-grey enamel ground worked in gold and silver wire and polychrome enamels with kikyo [Chinese bellflower], nadeshiko [pinks] and other autumn plants, the foot and neck with a narrow band of formal ornament, signed on a silver plaque Kyoto Namikawa [Namikawa of Kyoto], the pierced silver cover missing
