Broad oval, the broad rim carved as twigs entwined with warabite in gilt nunomezogan, 2¾in. (7cm.); brass and silver hirazogan of flowers and insects, Heianjo school, early 17th century, 3in. (7.7cm.); round, chiselled with two open fans in yo-sukashi, signed Kiami, 3 1/8in. (8cm.); round, brass inlaid in low relief with broken fans and ropework, 18th century, 3 3/8in. (8.5cm.); hachi-mokko, flowers and a riding crop in gilt and shakudo takazogan, 2 5/16in. (5.9cm.); oval, a standing priest in iron takazogan, silver, copper and gilt details, Ko-Nara school, 17th century, 2 7/16in. Lot Essay
The first tsuba is very much in the style of Tsuchiya Masachika, the second piece is similar to those by Heianjo Nagayoshi, but the work is finer and somewhat later, there is some inlay missing
