TWO BOXWOOD NETSUKE
Late Edo/Meiji Period (19th Century)
A netsuke of a cicada clutched on a twig, the details finely rendered, the natural himotoshi formed by the legs and the branch, signed on the end of the branch forming an oval reserve Harumitsu; and another of two mantis copulating on a branch, details of the wings and embryo in horn, signed below the himotoshi on the branch Akihide in a rectangular reserve, inlaid eyes with one inlay missing
