A Japanese hardwood laquered parcel gilt and inlaid shodona, late 19th/early 20th century
carved throughout with hoho birds, peacocks, dragons, flowers and foliage with an arrangement of open shelves, hinged and sliding panels decorated with Shibayama inlay, depicting stalks, quale, ducks and samari warriors amidst floral landscapes, above three similarly decorated frieze drawers on a foliate base with curved and scrolled supports, some losses to inlay -- 61in. (155cm.) wide, 93.1./2in. (237.5cm.) high, 15½in. (39cm.) deep
