A RARE NIMSCHKE ENGRAVED .44 COLT MODEL 1860 ARMY REVOLVER, NO. 180176 FOR 1869
Revolver engraved overall with bold scrollwork highlighted by granular grounds bearing the additional deluxe features of arrows along each side of the barrel, fish tails at barrel lugs and backstrap, inter-twining lines on backstrap base, signed L.D.N. on underside of barrel, stamped with the mark for W. Y. DE G (Wexell & De Gress, New York and Mexico City), matching number (wedge un-numbered), vintage retailer supplied checkered ivory grips
8 inch (20.3 cm.) barrel
Grey patina overall, some deep staining on backstrap, wedge screw replaced, cylinder with the original COLTS PATENT NO. 176 given some refreshening work.
