George Brann (1865-1954) played in 271 matches for Surrey and toured with Shrewsbury to Australia in 1887/88, with Read to South Africa in 1891/92, and with Ranjitsinhji to North America in 1899. He achieved 1,000 runs in a season twice, and as a soccer player was twice capped for England in 1886 and 1891.
