The photographs and cuttings in this album were most likely to have been collected by the Yorkshire cricketer Gerald Arthur Buxton Leatham (1851-1932) who has signed his name on a song-sheet in the album. The album records Vernon's team tour throughout India and the perfomance of his cousin, Albert Edward Leatham, (1859-1948). A.E. Leatham played for Gloucestershire between 1883-84 and participated in Vernon's tour to India (1889/90), Lord Hawke's Tour to India (1892/93) and to New Zealand (1902/3). His final first-class match in England was for the M.C.C. in 1897.
