Another example of this print is currently in the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis museum. The grandaughter of Charles Darwin, Raverat studied at the Slade from 1908 to 1911 and went on to become a founder member of the Society of Wood Engravers (1920). In 1952 Raverat published her autobiography Period Piece - A Cambridge childhood', which includes references to her mother playing tennis in the 1880s with accompanying illustrations, including an engraving of a Victorian mixed doubles tennis match.
