An ivory netsuke of a recumbent man
18th and 19th Century
the man carved wearing robes and cloth hat, a small monkey seated beside him holding a basket -- 2in. (5cm.) long; a wood netsuke of a sennin, carved standing with one leg raised, holding his beard, wearing open robes and mugwort leaves around the waist -- 2 3/8in. (6cm.) high; and a stained ivory netsuke, in the form of a nut with a face of Hotei to one side, signed Masa to base -- 1 7/8in. (4.7cm.) wide, (chips to feet on first two pieces).
