A lacquer box and cover modelled as a house
19th century
part inlaid in mother of pearl and coral, decorated in hiramakie, takamakie, aogai and nashiji, the doors opening to reveal the interior, set beside a small grassy mound with a bird perched in the branch of a blossoming tree, the sides, base and interior in nashiji -- 4in. (10.2cms) long, (small chip to rim of base).
