Although originally a Pimlico furniture dealer with a discerning eye, Geoffrey Bennison's true talent was decorating, and this became his main focus in the early 1970s. His charismatic personality and eclectic tastes ensured his position as one of London's most prominent decorators, and his international clientele adored him. Christie's was entrusted with the sale of the contents of 40 Audley Square and the remaining stock in trade of Bennison, 90 Pimlico Road, which took place on 26/27 September 1985.
