The case by Jean Goyer
Mounted overall with scrolling acanthus leaves, the glazed circular white enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic chapters in a shaped case, surmounted by a cockerel on a cloud surmounted by sunbursts, the waisted upper section with a hinged panelled door with a shaped glaed panel and headed by asymetrical scrolling rockwork, inlaid with a musical trophy, the spreading lower section inlaid with flowers, centred by scrolling floral rockwork above a foliated mask, on a moulded shaped plinth with a shaped apron stamped 'JME' and faintly 'GOYER, restorations to marquetry, replacements to brass strips
