A George Jones majolica cobalt-blue-ground jardinière and stand
moulded with humming birds amongst trailing branches of white flowers, beneath a band of strapwork, with gadroon-moulded lower section, yellow line rim and pale-blue interior, on three spreading feet, the stand with tortoise-shell glazed well and gadroon-moulded rim, the jardinière with indistinct painted pattern number, impressed monogram, circa 1870 (the jardinière extensively cracked with stapled repair, the stand cracked, small glaze flakes), the stand -- 38cm. diam.
