The silvered dial signed Robert Roskell, LIVERPOOL 853/49478, Roman hour numerals, gold Breguet hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds dial with decorative double arrowhead intermarkers for 5-15-25-35-45-55, up-and-down dial, both with gold hands, small size movement (62mm diam.), Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance with cylindrical heat compensation weights, blued steel helical balance spring, spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, brass bowl and gimbal, three-tier mahogany box with brass-bound top-lid and base and decorative key-hole escutcheon, the middle section with inset bone disc inscribed 853, external brass drop handles
