This chronometer was one of two early 19th century marine chronometers - CHRONOMETERS ~A~ & ~B~ respectively - by Liverpool makers that were carried and used onboard the Cunard liner Queen Elizabeth 2 on her maiden voyages from 16th December 1968 and 22nd April 1970. A certificate confirming this, issued and signed by Captain W.E.(~Bill~) Warwick a MASTER of Q.E.2 dated 4th June 1970 accompanies the chronometer. In May 1970 it was placed on loan with the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich and in 1971 it was transferred to Liverpool Maritime Museum where it has been on loan until 2001.
