The drum-shaped case with gadrooned top surmounted by a flaming brass finial, with gilt-brass bezel and fluted panel below, the rectangular base with acroteria mouldings to the sides and with recessed brass-lined panel, with glazed movement door to the rear and further door below, the white painted Roman convex dial with blued steel hands, formerly with strike/silent lever above XII, the five pillar wire fusee movement with arched plates, with anchor escapement and strike on bell
