Second quarter 19th century
The breakarch hood with shaped cresting surmounted by brass ball and spire finials resting on fluted blocks, with conforming pilasters to the angles below, the front with ebony line inlay, brass bezel to convex glass, the sides with circular sound frets, the breakarch trunk door with moulded frame, with conforming frame to a quatreform panel on the plinth, raised on a plinth with wavy apron, the 12in. diameter circular white dial with painted Roman chapters and subsidiary seconds ring, steel moon hands, pinned directly to the four pillar rack striking movement with deadbeat escapement and strike on bell
