The case with stepped top and chamfered front angles to the hood, with stepped throat above a glazed rectangular trunk door flanked by chamfered angles, on plinth with recessed panel and on stepped base, the 12in. diameter black painted regulator dial with white painted chapters, twenty-four observatory hour ring, signed G. BLACKIE LONDON 1878, with later blued steel hands, the four pillar movement with Graham deadbeat escapement and Harrison's maintaining power, the pendulum with fine adjustment to the crutchpiece and suspended from a brass bracket on the backboard, with later invar rod pendulum with brass bob; sold with original woodrod pendulum (lacking brass bob) and later silvered dial
