The case with urn finial painted with landscapes, with volute mounts to the sides terminating in leafy sprigs, the base with oval panel painted with two lovers in a bower, within a foliate cast frame, the front panel decorated with two ladies in a glade, one playing the flute, with two amorini emerging from a tent beside them, the dial above painted with flowers and leaves and with two doves beside a nest with a crossed quiver, with Roman chapters and gilt-metal hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell (lacking) -- 18in.
