A French gilt-bronze striking mantel clock, last quarter 19th century
The waisted case cast with foliage and surmounted with two billing doves, with a figure of young Bacchus to the fore feeding a bunch of grapes to a goat, on integral plinth, the cast dial aplied with individual white enamel Roman cartouche chapters, blued steel trefoil hands, the twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell -- 22½in. (57cm.) high
