A William IV oak and mahogany longcase clock, second quarter 19th century
The case with brass-capped swan-neck pediment to the hood and outset columns, with cross-banded short trunk door flanked by chamfered sides, with central conch inlay, the conforming plinth with central stellar inlay and raised on bracket feet, the 12in. wide white dial painted with a floral basket to the arch, Roman chapter ring with Arabic quarters, with subsidiary seconds ring and date arch to the centre signed W. Fentham Harleston, some repainting, later hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 79in. (201cm.) high
