The hood with brass ball and spire finial to a swan-neck cresting, outset fluted columns, with sound frets to the sides, the trunk banded in satinwood with ebonised line inlay, with conforming decoration to the plinth, the 12½in. wide brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered chapter ring applied with gilt-brass Arabic numerals, the centre engraved overall with flowerheads and mounted with vacant signature plaque, with silvered subsidiary seconds ring, blued steel hands, the arch with painted rolling moon, the four pillar rack striking movement with dead beat escapement and strike on gong to the backboard -- 98in.
